Estate of John Doe v. Farmers Insurance - UIM Arbitration Award: Todd represented the family of a 65-year old retired plumber who had been killed in an auto accident. The man and his wife were driving southbound on I-5 when the left front wheel of a northbound vehicle came off, bounced over the median, and came through the windshield on the driver's side, killing the man and injuring his wife.

Prior to arbitration, the defendant’s underinsured motorist insurance carrier offered $250,000 in settlement. In December of 2002, our wrongful death claim got the family of the deceased a $1,544,770.90 award.

Estate of Jane Doe vs. Anonymous Pharmacy: In April 2000, Todd represented the family of a 70-year-old woman who died because of a medication error. The final offer from the defendants was $500,000. Todd demonstrated the economic damages in a novel way, using the testimony of a life care planner and an economist to quantify the loss of "care" for the surviving husband.

Todd won the family of the deceased woman a $1,857,515.51 net verdict. At the time, this was believed to be the largest wrongful death verdict in Washington for the death of a senior citizen. It was also Todd's third million-dollar jury verdict of the eight he has received since 1995.
