A few weeks before the mom’s due date her baby’s movement slowed dramatically and ultimately stopped. She immediately reported her concerns to her doctors who sent her to the hospital for a special test. The hospital performed the wrong test which led to a failure to diagnose the problem. As a result the baby was born without a heart beat and he was deprived of oxygen leading to brain damage, cerebral palsy, cortical blindness, and spastic quadriplegia. Our attorneys got the family a $17,068,426.33 jury verdict to pay for the 24-hour care the child will require for the rest of his life.  It is the largest medical negligence verdict ever obtained in Washington state.

In another case, our Seattle medical malpractice lawyers represented a man whose health care providers had consistently failed to diagnose his diabetes which resulted in his sudden death. This was a hard-fought case, as the defendant refused to even make a settlement offer and hired one of the most highly respected defense attorneys in Washington. In the end, we achieved a large jury verdict for the family, with a net recovery of $1,117,968.
